Medical Information Declaration

By signing or printing my name below, I confirm that all relevant medical information, including medical conditions, allergies, injuries, additional needs, and prescribed medication have been fully disclosed in the medical information section of this registration form.

I understand that it is my responsibility to notify Talking Props Theatre Arts in writing of any changes to the above medical information as soon as reasonably practicable. Any updates must be sent via email to:

I acknowledge that failure to provide accurate and up-to-date medical information may affect the ability of Talking Props Theatre Arts to provide appropriate care.

2. Emergency Medical Consent

In the event of illness or injury requiring urgent medical attention, and where I (or second named emergency contact) cannot be contacted in time, I give permission for Talking Props Theatre Arts, its staff, or authorised representatives to:

  • Seek appropriate medical advice and/or treatment;

  • Arrange transportation to hospital where necessary;

  • Authorise emergency medical treatment on my behalf

This consent applies only where reasonable efforts have been made to contact the named emergency contact and delay would be detrimental to health or safety.

3. Acknowledgement of Risk & Liability

I understand that participation in theatre arts activities, including but not limited to dance, drama, singing, stage combat, movement, rehearsals and performances, involves a degree of physical activity and inherent risk.

While Talking Props Theatre Arts takes all reasonable steps to provide a safe environment in accordance with its safeguarding, health and safety, and risk assessment procedures, minor injuries such as sprains, strains, bruises and similar incidental injuries may occur as part of normal participation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree that Talking Props Theatre Arts shall not be held liable for:

  • Minor injuries sustained during properly supervised activities;

  • Injuries arising from failure to disclose relevant medical information;

  • Injuries resulting from a participant’s failure to follow instructions given by staff.

Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability which cannot be excluded under UK law.

Code of Practice Declaration

By ticking the box below, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to abide by the following Code of Practice.

1. Uniform & Presentation

  • Students must attend all classes dressed in black clothing and their official Talking Props Theatre Arts (TPTA) t-shirt.

  • Uniform may be ordered upon enrolment. A half-term grace period is permitted for new students to obtain the correct uniform.

  • All events, showcases and performances must be attended in full and correct TPTA uniform unless otherwise specified.

  • Students who arrive without the correct uniform, appropriate attire, or required dance shoes may be sent home from class or rehearsal.

  • No refunds will be issued in the event a student is sent home for failing to comply with uniform requirements.

  • Chewing gum is strictly prohibited at all classes, rehearsals and events.

2. Behaviour & Conduct

  • Poor behaviour, disruption, bullying, or failure to follow staff instruction will not be tolerated.

  • Students displaying unacceptable behaviour may be sent home.

  • No refunds will be issued where a student is sent home due to behavioural concerns.

  • Parents and guardians are expected to communicate with staff respectfully at all times. Abusive, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the school.

3. Commitment to Training & External Activities

  • Students are not permitted to attend any other after-school performing arts training programme, theatre school, agency, or partake in external performances without the prior written consent of Talking Props Theatre Arts.

  • The only exception to this rule is participation in internal school clubs and school productions.

  • This policy exists to:

    • Avoid timetable clashes and attendance conflicts;

    • Protect performance licensing and safeguarding obligations;

    • Maintain training consistency and standards;

    • Prevent conflicts that may undermine the integrity of TPTA training and productions.

Written consent requests must be submitted via email to info@talkingprops.co.uk.

4. Casting, Attendance & Performances

  • All casting decisions are made at the discretion of Talking Props Theatre Arts staff and are final.

  • Lateness, irregular attendance or continued absence may result in the loss of featured parts, principal roles, or removal from performance pieces or productions entirely.

  • If joining the studio during an active rehearsal period, you understand that your child will be integrated into the production where reasonably possible, but featured roles cannot be guaranteed.

  • You agree to ensure your child is available for all advertised Talking Props events, showcases and performances.

  • Public performance dates are issued by August prior to the new academic year, or upon joining the studio.

  • If you have not received performance dates within five working days of joining, it is your responsibility to request them via email to info@talkingprops.co.uk.

  • Failure to attend a committed performance may result in you being invoiced for associated costs already incurred on your behalf, including (but not limited to) costumes, licensing, venue hire and allocated staff time. You agree to pay such costs where applicable.

5. Media, Intellectual Property & Publicity

  • You consent to student headshots and names appearing in official performance programmes.

  • All choreography, scripts, concepts, branding, materials and creative work produced by Talking Props Theatre Arts remain the intellectual property of its staff and are protected under TPTA trademark and UK copyright law.

  • Recording, reproducing, or sharing studio work, choreography, scripts, rehearsal footage or performance content on public platforms (including social media) without express written permission is strictly prohibited.

  • Parents and students are only permitted to contact Talking Props staff via the studio mobile numbers, landline, Whatsapp or email. Under no circumstances should staff be contacted via any personal channels including social media. Please do not contact the studio via its socal media platforms, these are for the public only. Members of TPTA should only make contact through email, Whatsapp or phone.

  • When you enrol, you will be added to the Talking Props Whatsapp groups, here only staff can post updates and rehearsal material and video footage for practising. Please email us before enrolling if you do not wish to be added to these groups.

6. Personal Property & Liability

  • Talking Props Theatre Arts accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings belonging to students, parents, guardians or members of the visiting public.

  • While every reasonable precaution is taken to ensure a safe environment, participation in performing arts activities carries inherent risk.

Nothing in this declaration excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Financial Commitment Agreement

By ticking the box below and enrolling with Talking Props Theatre Arts, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to the following financial terms.

1. Membership Fees

  • You agree to pay the monthly membership fee(s) selected at enrolment.

  • Membership operates on a 12-month minimum commitment from the date of enrolment or to July of the academic year to which you enrolled (whichever is sooner)

  • Payments are collected monthly and are due on the 20th of each month.

  • Sibling discounts are rounded up to the nearest pound. Beginners memberships (£49) do not qualify for sibling discount.

Talking Props Theatre Arts delivers tuition across 37 weeks of the academic year. Your monthly payment secures your child’s place within the studio and covers the advertised membership and training hours as detailed on the Talking Props website. Payments are averaged across the year and are not calculated per individual class.

2. Late Payment Terms

  • Payments received after the 20th of the month will incur a £12 late payment fee, reflecting reasonable administrative costs.

  • If payment has not been received by the 28th of the month, your child will not be permitted to attend classes, rehearsals, events, or participate in performances until the outstanding balance is cleared.

  • If payment remains outstanding for 28 days or more, Talking Props Theatre Arts reserves the right to pursue recovery of the debt. You agree to be responsible for any reasonable costs incurred in recovering outstanding monies.

Late payments may only be agreed in advance and must be requested in writing at least 48 hours before the payment due date via email to:

Any variation to payment terms must be confirmed in writing by Talking Props Theatre Arts.

3. Allocation of Payments

Talking Props Theatre Arts reserves the right to allocate or transfer payments made (including payments for events or tickets) against any outstanding tuition fees. This may result in event tickets being invalidated where necessary to recover unpaid membership fees.

4. Additional Costs

The following are not included within your monthly membership fee and are charged separately where applicable:

  • Private lessons

  • Examination fees

  • Trips and external visits

  • Uniform and dancewear

  • Guest workshops and masterclasses

  • Optional additional training sessions

Talking Props Theatre Arts does not charge performance participation fees for students performing in its own productions.

5. Withdrawal from Events & Performances

A fee of £100 will be payable where a student withdraws from a Talking Props event or performance without providing a minimum of 8 weeks’ written notice, reflecting time, staffing, rehearsal scheduling and production costs already incurred.

6. Class Cancellations & Timetable Changes

Talking Props Theatre Arts reserves the right to cancel classes where necessary. In such circumstances, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule or allocate alternative time within the timetable.

7. Shows & Performances

Studio productions and performances are created as an extension of and to showcase tuition. These are not standalone products purchased under your monthly subscription.

Talking Props Theatre Arts reserves the right to:

  • Cancel performances where necessary (including but not limited to circumstances beyond its control);

  • Amend production arrangements;

  • Remove students from performances due to attendance, behaviour, safeguarding or financial non-compliance.

Nothing in this agreement affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
